We FINALLY Convinced Our Mom to Leave!
Paula’s Total Health Makeover – Week 1
My mother, Paula, has gone from doctor to doctor in a country town, trying to identify an issue that she’s been experiencing for almost 2 years. Yes, she’s had some health conditions for several years like Hypertension, Osteoporosis, Spinal Disc problems, Pinched Nerves, Sinuses, Back Pain and Muscle Spasms. But for the past year and a half, she has been very limited in daily activities. Doing something as simple as walking from one room to another, causes an elevated heart rate, shortness of breath and sometimes she would even black out.
She has gone from one doctor to another. After many EKG’s, x-rays and tests, the doctors couldn’t see any fluctuation with her heart rate until one doctor finally suggested a stress test. Finally she was diagnosed with AFib/Arrhythmia. The doctor suggested a heart procedure which “plugged” her heart with the expectation that she would stop experiencing the “episodes” and blackouts. The procedure was done but still, no improvement.
Can you imagine, not being able to perform normal daily activities like walking or standing without passing out?! For months, she has basically sat still, only moving when absolutely necessary. When you don’t move, you lose. She lost the use of most muscles in her body and arthritis has set in.
I know there are many people who have experiences like this. You’ve gone from one doctor to another, not really knowing who to trust because no one has truly been able to help you. You want answers and you just want to feel better NOW. I am here to tell you the truth. YOU CAN BE HEALED! Most health conditions that you have been told you’ll have to medicate for the rest of your life – CAN BE REVERSED! You just need to understand that there are a few simple components that contribute to our health:
- What we eat
- Our environment
- The communication between our brain and our body
So after my mom started describing how she truly felt about her health and the frustration behind it all, my siblings and I pestered her repeatedly until she finally agreed to come stay with me for awhile to take a more natural approach to heal. SO…I was so excited to drive 2.5 hrs to get her. I already had a plan in mind, ready to execute:
- Find her a doctor that will help her HEAL and not suggest additional medication or surgery (they are rare, but they do exist)
- Feed her a nutrient-rich diet
- Get her moving and on an exercise regimen
I have to admit, Kyäni products have played a huge roll in this first week of “Health Rehabilitation” as I call it. When one of my sisters suggested Mom watch “What the Health”, it wasn’t difficult at all to get her off animal products. Lol! Then when we removed the processed foods and animal products from her diet, we saw results immediately. It has been AMAZING! Let’s talk about her first week…
Saturday – We started with a trip to the market to get green produce, beans, nuts and seeds. She’s never detoxed, so a detox was the first thing on the list. I gave her, her first green drink with organic fruit and vegetables. From that point, I made her breakfast, lunch and dinner with NO processed foods and plenty of nutrients and Kyäni products. I also took her measurements so we can keep track of her progress.
Sunday – We attended church. Now, our church is huge so there was much more walking involved that she’s accustomed to so she was very winded walking in, but amazingly, on the way out, she didn’t get as winded while walking.
Monday – We went for our first walk at the park!! I am so excited to report that she walked half a mile! She told me that it was a struggle and she really pushed herself. We walked slowly and stopped whenever she needed. Every night she had trouble sleeping but after this eventful day, she slept very well.
Tuesday – She had her first doctor’s appointment with one of the most amazing doctors I’ve researched. An assessment and x-rays were done.
Wednesday – We went to see a movie. She had a moment where she felt an episode coming on but it did dissipate.
Thursday – She went with me to pick up the kids from school and didn’t hold up well while sitting in the car for a long period of time. She became very tired and sluggish.
Saturday – Walked approximately 1/4th mile. This time, walking was a little easier than the first time.
